Art Contest

My Bright Smile™ Global Art Contest

Showcasing the best student art from around the world!

As part of the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® global oral health education program, Colgate-Palmolive Company holds the My Bright Smile™ Global Art Contest to fill their annual calendar with original artwork created by children from around the world.

Artwork must adhere to the theme of “Why my bright smile is important?” and is open to entrants aged between 6 and 9.

The contest awards twelve local finalists with Colgate® gift boxes full of goodies. The best local entry will receive $250 for themselves and $500 for their school in their local currency. The winner and finalists will go in the running to win the global prize. The twelve best entries globally will win a scholarship of $250USD for themselves and $500USD for their school, and will also be featured in the Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Calendar which goes out to over 40,000 people worldwide.

This art contest is not available in Australia and New Zealand in 2023

Contest Rules & Regulations

  • Is my country participating in the My Bright Smile™ Global Art Contest?

    Please email ColgateBSBF@colpal.com to find out if your country is participating in the current year's contest.

  • Who may enter?

    The contest is open to children ages 6-9 at time of entry. Employees of Colgate-Palmolive Company and their promotion and/or fulfillment agencies and immediate family members of these employees are not eligible.

  • Must artwork be original?

    Yes. Artwork must be original, created by the student without assistance from others. Artwork cannot be copied or traced from a book or other material. Photos and computer-generated graphics will be disqualified.

  • What type/medium of art entry is acceptable?

    Black and white or colour artwork depicting the theme “Why My Bright Smile is Important” may be submitted: line drawings, crayon, paint, regular or coloured pencil, acrylic pastel, magic markers, ink or any combination.

  • How should the entries be submitted?

    Entries must be either mailed in to the address on the back o this booklet or submited online via www.colgatebsbf.com.au.

  • What size should the entry be?

    Entries should be a minimum of 21 x 28 centimetres and cannot exceed 45 x 60 centimetres.

  • Will entries be returned?

    No. Entries become the sole property of Colgate-Palmolive Company and will not be returned.

  • How will the entries be judged?

    Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, imagination, and best rendering of the theme “Why My Bright Smile is Important.” Each participating country will choose 12 finalists. These 12 finalists' artwork will have the chance to be submitted to the Global Judging Committee for final selection of the 12 winners to be featured on the Global Calendar. Decisions of the judges are final.

  • What are the prizes?

    One local winner will be chosen to receive $250 for themselves and $500 for their school in local currency. The winner and eleven local finalists will receive Colgate packs filled with BSBF and Colgate products.

    Each of the 12 global winners will be awarded a Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® Scholarship. in the amount of $250 U.S.. Each of the winning entries will be included in the Colgate "My Bright Smile" Global Calendar.

    Schools of global winners will receive classroom grants valued at $500 U.S. Each child that enters should receive a My Bright Smile™ certificate. Winning art, photographs and personal biographical information of regional and international winners will be utilised in traveling displays, advertising and publicity in a variety of media which may include print, video and/or electronic format.

  • How will the winners be notified?

    Local winners will be notified in July. Global winners will be notified in August.

  • What are the requirements to enter?

    By completing the entry form, entrants agree to the reproduction, use, display and exhibition of their artwork in the Global Calendar and traveling exhibit. Entrants also agree to the use of their name, photograph or likeness and personal information in advertising, promotional and publicity materials and the final calendar for global distribution.

  • What is the timetable?

    Entry deadline: May 31
