A healthy breakfast, and a healthy smile. Colgate and Foodbank NSW & ACT - working together to tackle two issues for school kids
Around 3 kids in every classroom in Australia are going to school hungry. Foodbank NSW & ACT's School Breakfast for Health Program provides students with an opportunity to eat a wholesome, nutritious meal at the start of their school day, on a regular basis. Access to breakfast is shown to have a positive impact for children such as physical and mental health, improved social skills, concentration, attendance, and overall educational outcomes.
Our Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® program works to provide vital oral health education material to children in schools, supporting healthy oral care habits from a young age. Oral disease is unfortunately rife among young children, with 1 in 5 children under the age of 5 years old suffering from some form of decay.
Through the provision of a healthy breakfast and materials for a healthy oral care routine from a young age, we hope that we can encourage healthier smiles for more schools.
